Hello from Devon

Post: # 23029Post madanna »

Hello - I'm Anna and as the name says - slightly mad

I've come over from Janey Lee Grace's forum

I am married to a very non environmentally concerned hubby and we have 2 little boys 7 and 3 that are going to be green like mummy

I do what I can to help - this year I have created a veggie patch that looks fab, I try to shop ethically, use the local markets and I HATE CARRIER BAGS!!! - really wanting to look into water uses now but havent been able to get my water butts cos we have a shortage down here

I work in local gvmt (Yawwwwwwwwn) but am doing a degree and retraining to be a teacher. I teach Yoga, make baby slings and am generally tooooo busy!!!

Hello and welcome :hello2:

Are there really shortages of water butts? I must admit Ive never bought one, I got one from my ex hub, one from my mum and one from freecycle. I ended up rehoming one to another freecycler, so maybe post a want on there?

I even saw a photo of a "sold out" sign in one of the papers...

Hi Anna - must admit I read your name as Madonna first! Was that intended?

Good to see you here!

If you are looking for waterbutts WICKES have them! Well in Trowbridge Wilts they do anyway. :flower: Bit of a trip but they do exist.

Hello Madanna and welcome

There's a shortage of water butts in the SE, too - or at least round here in the Hastings/Tunbridge Wells area. Someone Freecycled one the other day and was pounced on within minutes!

Southern Water (curses) are offering them for the soaraway price of £34.95 ...

Anyway, good luck with the veg and hope husband sees the light!

regards

Sharon
