I don't know if anyone else has posted this yet, but my local council(essex) are offering compost bins at stupidly cheap prices (including kitchen Caddies and...i think....bin liners) and they deliver...all in the cost.
There is:
The convertabin: 220ltr for £4
The Compost Converter (330ltr) for £6
Or The Soil Saver (i'm ordering one tomorrow...) (600ltr) for £15
Call 0845 077 0759 to order using a debit card, or you can download the form at www.recyclenow.com/compost
It is open to Essex County Council and Southend On Sea Borough reisdents only.

Loads of Councils seem to have taken this system up this year. My sis-in-law ordered one at the beginning of May for £7. By the end of May it hadn't arrived, so she phoned up to find out what's going on. They said it'd be with her by the end of the week and apologised profusely. A few days later one showed up... a few days after that another one! Hoorah for the Council!
Just because it feels good, it doesn't make it right.

cool, lets hope they forget mine for a while then!!
the one i've bought comes with a kitchen caddy and compostable bin liners too, so all in all its a bargain!! Can't wait to get it installed and get rid of the old compost bins - they're the cylindrical ones with no air vents that you have to lift off the compost to empty...they're not that good in my experience. Looking forward to getting the new big black monster!!!
