Well, my eye is no longer red and swollen, but I still have the blurred spot in the middle of my vision. It's extremely irritating! I have to sit here and type with one eye closed to avoid giving myself a headache.
Still, there was a positive side to getting a thorn in my eye - the tests showed I still have 6/3 vision (20/10 in old money). That means I can see at six metres what the average person sees at three metres. So I may be on the wrong side of 40 and falling apart, but I can still see (from one eye at least)!
And now the boiler has broken down! I don't know how long for as we have solar hot water and that's been producing all the hot water for several days.
But when I went to run a bath for the Wee 'Un this morning, there was no hot water and there's a lot of cloud in the sky. So, I went to turn the boiler on and while the oil pump is working, there's no ignition.
There's oil in the tank and in the pipe, so now we have to see when an engineer can come out...
The boiler was serviced about two months ago and had a new pump put in a year ago (when it last broke down), so what's the odds that the ignition system has failed this time?
Argh!

that had me worry for a minute! - I'm guessing that he used the word "bet*ing" - this is one of the proscribed "spam" words - so the spam filter kicked in!
Sorry, it's a pain in the b*m, but it will happen from time to time as the forum endeavours to protet itself from spammers! 8)
