Is this tiny flower Cow Parsley or something else?

Post: # 228816Post DreamKitty »

So this tiny white flower has been growing in my garden, I picked it up. The flowers were in clusters, very close together, the stalks were of medium length and had around 4 petals each with a yellow centre. 2 big petals and then the other two were smaller. The smell of the flowers is musky & sweet. Im wondering if it is either, cow parsely, yarrow, poisonous hemlock or something completly different. They look so alike, im confused. But anyway, I see it in lots of people's gardens.

Here is a photo, I resized the pic so it might look a bit weird lol.

It is Candytuft. It comes in many colours and is a perennial. Not poisonous to my knowledge.....http://www.growsonyou.com/shop/product/3991

Thanks Davie, feels so good now that I know  . I had been searching this flower for ages, I knew that it couldn't be cow parsley because the leaf description is different. I thought it can't be yarrow either as it has 5 petals instead of 4. I was actually on the verge of eating it out of frustration lol but after doing some further googling, I found that it is inedible and has no medical use other. Oh well, the flowers that adorable to look at. :flower:

Never play with your carrots when cow parsley is in flower, or your MIL is staying.

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

Iberis, good, I got it right. Cow parsley is more likely to be seen in ditches and fields in the countryside and less so in people's gardens in London!
