Planting grape plants
I bought a fully foliaged grape vine yesterday and I'm about to plant it. Theres about a foot inbetween the base of the plant and the first leaf. I was thinking of planting over some of that space. will that be ok?
Re: Planting grape plants
It all depends if it's a named grafted variety.
If it's grafted and you plant it deeper than the graft, it will sprout roots from the scion which would defeat the object of grafting in the first place.
If it's an ordinary vine on it's own roots, then it would be perfectly OK to plant it deeper.
