weight loss group
Re: weight loss group
Thanks to Big Al re my previous post. Had a great birthday; Champagne, 5 course meal with wine etc. I'm still 12.5 stone so haven't lost or gained this week but don't regret the splurge for one moment but am back to the healthy eating now.
My tiller arrived today so am looking forward to a busy weekend in the garden to burn a few calories.

Re: weight loss group
Advice please!
I went to the doctor about being sick, thought it was a chest infection. Turns out it is a throat infection AND a sinus infection :S I have been put on 2 weeks of antibiotics and have been on them for 2 days now. I also was given an inhaler to use whenever I felt like coughing or when my throat felt bad.
I have spent the last week in bed. I felt terrible but am feeling much better now! Minus the continuous cough which will probably plague me for the next month or so. Do you think it's ok for me to go to the gym or do you think I should take it avoid exercise until I am completely healthy? I seriously miss it!
Oh and I put 2 of the 4 kgs that I had lost back on, I should be horrified at that but am actually pleased as I lost it due to not eating, not in a way which was good for me.

Mind you I could do the bft in les than 18 minutes when your compadres had finished with me......
haha . We always manage to invoke that kind of reaction. I spent a year at depot training new rcts and when they eventually passed out of training to join their units they always said the one thing they "WOULDN'T" miss were the PTI's. I wonder why

But re my original post the offer is there. More than happy to help.

I would wait until you are fully healthy as your body isn't working properly while you are ill. If you are desperate to go back I would speak to your doctor first.

Re: weight loss group
Been meaning to join in with you lot for a while now as I've been trying to loose weight too, seems to be working. I was over 13 stone at Christmas and now I'm between 11 stone 9 pounds and 12 stone. I seem to loose a lot of fluid when I sleep and as soon as I drink 2 pints of water I can put on 4 pounds.
I've been steadily loosing between 1 - 2 pounds a week. It seems to be exercise more than anything that is making a difference, I bought a stack of fitness DVD's from charity shops and have being doing them. Fern Bitton's everyday pilaties is a winner!
But it takes effort, doesn't it? To keep doing exercises and to stop eating cake. In fact cake and beer I think are my biggest weeknesses - just like you misty. As a writer it is easy to find yourself in cafes and as a writer who has just written a book called booze for free well! I'm always surrounded by the stuff! Anyway, I seem to get away with the odd binge as long as do some exercise the next morning.

2 pints of water weight nearly 3 pounds !!Andy Hamilton wrote:Been meaning to join in with you lot for a while now as I've been trying to loose weight too, seems to be working. Don't think of it as a chore to lose weight. Just think of it as a change in lifestyle. If you had motor transport then noew have a bike for enviro reasons that's a change in lifestyle not a downgrading in your lifestyle or abillity to get around etc.
If you want to avoid a certain food then think of it as a boagy food. This boagy food is bad for you, will hurt you and will make life bad or any other negative thought. When you see a cake you want or a piece of cheese or a bag of chips etc just think that it is bad for you and will say give you diabetes or A HEART ATTACK.
Chances are you will not eat it.
Keep up the good work everyone, anyone else want to declare this week?

Re: weight loss group
After some thought, it's just come to me that all I need to do to lose weight is to stop grazing like a sheep. When I sit at home in the very small flat with the place reasonably tidy I eat for something to do. And if I'm really bored I make chocolate cake.
And it's not possible to fill up all day, every day when I'm retired.

Lost 5 pounds in the last 10 days. I know it's fluid and now for the hard work!!
Re: weight loss group
I fell by the wayside (hangs head in shame) but I have been back on track this week. Have lost 5 lbs, which means a total loss of 7lbs (one fifth of the way there
) Well done everyone, you are quite an inspiration

Re: weight loss group
I'm finally feeling more positive about everything, it must be the weather! When the sun shines I feel I can achieve anything! Going on holiday next week, so am trying really hard this week to lose a couple of pounds so that I can put it back on! Seriously though, I have more energy when the weather is good. pbf.
Re: weight loss group
Both Mrs BA and myself have stuck this week so we need to get our act together again.
Well done to all who are trying hard and for the rest are we going to declare ? it's about this time of the year when we all give up because of "stuff" "things happening" or just bordem through not losing weight enough.
If we focus more then the weight will come off again.
BA.

Re: weight loss group
I have been lurking reading this thread on and off and I have just noticed that I could do with the motivation too! My clothes are a bit too tight and I am a bit too tight to buy new ones or alter them so I guess a few Kilos have to go..I sit at the high side of size 12 (depending on the cut etc) and don't want to have to buy all new 14s!
I'm 70kg=154lbs=11st I believe and I do know that my eating habits have been shocking, I normally don't eat during the day except for a few handfuls of almonds and cups of tea and then go to town at night. I know that it is not good for my metabolism and the vast amounts of choccie I have been wolfing down won't be helping!
I know all the right things to do- I used to be well into my weight lifting and nutrition- I just need to stay motivated and umm like, do it!
BTW I am very impressed with everyone posting on this thread!

I think slow is rather good. I think it stays off, wheareas a rapid loss very soon goes back on . pbf.
