Covert PDF to JPEG

The whole reason for the selfsufficientish website was to offer a place where anyone can ask, HOW DO I...? So who knows why it has taken us so long to have a HOW DO I? section, but here it is. So if you want to know how to do anything selfsufficientish then here is the place to ask.

Covert PDF to JPEG

Post: # 223959Post Keaniebean »

I know there are some brilliant computer minds on here, but I am a total dunce when it comes to anything which has to be plugged in ( except a sewing machine maybe, lol), so as the titel says, do any of you know how to convert a PDF file into a JPEG file so the image can then be used elsewhere rather than just viewed in Adobe.

I downloaded something called Omniformat last night, but I can't work out how to use it :angryfire: :angryfire:

If you just want to copy a picture, you don't need any new program.
Open up the PDF, highlight the picture you want (hold left mouse button and drag to select area) then right click on image and select "copy image". (you need to be just inside the picture for some reason)
Open up Paint (in Windows) and select "paste" in Edit drop down menu.
Then "save as" on File drop down menu and you can save it in whatever format you like, including JPEG.

Also ...
You can copy a whole page at a time.
In Acrobat select "Tools" then "Select and Zoom" and finally "Snapshot Tool"
Then just left click on a page at a time and paste into Paint as above.
Hope that helps.

As Odsox says, or by using any of several bits of freeware. The one I would NOT use is Omniformat. It is full of adware and it actually deletes your original pdf file during the conversion. If I were you, I'd stay well clear of that one.
