keep my chickens in one place?!?

The whole reason for the selfsufficientish website was to offer a place where anyone can ask, HOW DO I...? So who knows why it has taken us so long to have a HOW DO I? section, but here it is. So if you want to know how to do anything selfsufficientish then here is the place to ask.

I have a similar problem. I love seeing them milling about but the neighbours aren't so keen when they stray into a prized veg patch. I do remember seeing a fella who bred cocks who tethered them when they were in musk or heat or the chicken equivelant of horny, and i've been thinkin of tryin the same. This guy seemed to have taped a bit of string to one of the cock's legs and it worked much like a tethered goat . i've no idea if this'll be practical or even work but i'm gonna give it a try - does anyone have experience of tethering cocks/chickens? i'll let you know how it turns out...

Not sure about this, think you're going to damage a leg at best(they chaffe easily).I've only known cockerels to be de-spurred,to avoid damaging hens, and I wouldn't do that either.A decent cockerel is always'up for it',if it's disturbing then hens too much then keep them apart,or increase the hen/cockerel ratio.
If ALL the poultry are ranging too far, fence them in.
