Re: frugal start to 2011
Made some garlic toast, and had some good wine and herb cheese with my wife.
Lit up a modest amount of fireworks to scare away the evil ghosts for the next year.
(my wife is pretty strict about that,she's part Indonesian and they know what the stuff is really for...
)
Currently on the second bottle,gently burping up the great aroma's of southern France and wishing you all the very best for 2011.
(Just don't hug me until Feb 2,the toast was quite fragrant...)

Re: frugal start to 2011
We shared a bottle of M&S finest champers from my folks around a bonfire of free wood whilst watching fireworks lit by others in the village! The best bit...... my step son asked if he could stay an extra week!

Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Re: frugal start to 2011
I am aiming for a frugal January. Credit card has taken a pasting during Dec (not just Xmas expense) so I aim to spend as little as possbile. I am going to clear the freezer and cupboards of anything edible and whip up some tasty delights. Plenty batches of veggie curries, soups etc.
No matter how much you push the envelope, it'll still be stationery
