Hiya, My name is Wendy and Im new to the site. I now live in the Vendee, France since moving from Norfolk, UK in Sept 2004. I live here with my hubby & 4 year old son in a rennovated store house/wine press. My parents are at the top of our cul-de-sac in their 300 year old farmhouse, we really are living the good life here. We have loads of land and really getting into growing our own veggies. Found this site whilst searching on how to make Elderflower wine and think its great. Gonna go buy a bucket tomorrow so can start making some.

I think there's no elderflowers at all yet in the UK...

And once they are out, we'll all be picking them like mad and there won't be any left for elderberry recipes!

i was in the chichester area yesterday, on the canal to be exact, rowing a boat, and i saw the start of some elder flowers popping out.

i reckon give it a couple of weeks or so.

Hi Wendy and welcome - glad to see another 'Frenchie'!

Ina and Andy - Having just been in England I can tell you that it is about 2 weeks behind northern France. Here the elderberries are starting to flower whilst it is still Hawthorn galore in England.

We've driven 2,500 kms so I've got a bit sick of hawthorn blossom now.
