You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

Recipes for sweets

Post: # 216484Post Susie »

(Before I start, I know if I google it I'll get millions, it was recommendations I was looking for. Hope that's ok :flower: ).

I thought I might make everyone sweets this Christmas (I'm planning ahead ;-) ). Does anyone have any recipes that they'd recommend? I'm looking for anything really but probably things like chocolate truffles, fudge, stuff like that? Unusual flavours would be good. I'm pretty much scared of anything that involves a soft-ball stage but hey, it's still early, I've got time to get over my fear!

Taken from The Essential CHristmas Cookbook a really easy fudge recipe that went down well a few years back:

70g chopped butter
150g chopped dark choc
250g white marshmallows
1tsp vanilla essence
50g melted milk choc

line some sort of tin with foil
put butter, dk choc and marshmallows in a pan and stir over a low heat, continually, until all melted, remove from heat and stir in essence
pour into tin and refrigerate until set
tip out, remove foil cut into reasonable sized pieces and drizzle with melted milk choc and set aside until choc sets

There are a few other recipes I'll look out for you when I have some time.
Hope that helps
Sarah
