27 days till im 30!

Thanks so much for all your lovely comments. I am very content with what I've got, the only thing I would want to change is that we would own r house so the kids hav some security but apart from that I have learned to be content with what I have. We know were we want to be so just gotta get there. We havnt got much money but it doesn't seem to matter, we get by and just yesterday the kids made a cardboard xmas tree and we had a laugh doin it then after that the three of them set up there band in the kitchen with loaf tins and spoons!!! All free entertainment that brought memories with it. I can't wait to be 30!!! X

I second a lot of what's been said already. If you're happy with what you've got, why try to be different? There is no better feeling than the one you get when you think about all the things you could do, and then realise what you really want to do is what you're already doing. I'll be 40 in March, and I'm hoping that I will spend the evening of my birthday curled up on the couch with my OH, a bottle of home-brew, watching something funny on the TV. Just like we normaly do. Except we might have a box of choccies to eat that night. If there's someone funny on at theatre one evening in March, we might go as my birthday treat, but I'm not bothered really. Just so long as I have my family around me, if they are happy then I don't need anything else. xx

my birthday is in 10 days. i'll be 28. i can no longer say i am in my mid twenties but i dont care. i am happy, proud of m life and finally i feel like my contribution to the world is worth something. for years i had it drummed into me that the way to be happy is to be financially and educationally sucessful. you get lotsof a leves. you then go to uni. you get a degree, you walk right into a job, you make at least £30kpa, have a good job and therefore you will be happy.

no no no no no!!!!!!!!! it's taken me many years and a lot of therapy to realise that NO, that is not the key to happiness!!

i dropped out of university with no more than debt and a rather nice boyfried who i had met there. i got a crappy job which paid bugger all, but which i loved. i got married to the lovely boy from uni, fell pregnant and left work.

my contribution to the world wont be financial. we are more oftne than not totally skint because jim supports us. our car is old, rattly and crap. we live in a rented house. but you know what? Sophie wants for nothing, she's clever and happy and i finally love my life.

my nearly 28 years HAVE been worth something.

They say life begins at 40, so when i got to 40 it did, the fact got me in a good frame of mind, cos its all in the mind and thats when i got my allotment. Then i got together my a friend that i had known for several years and married her. We now have 2 lovely girls aged 2 & 5. While we were doing that i reached 42? I knew everthing "life the universe and everything" It got better & better. When i got to 43, i knew nothing.
