Up to date prices for pig food
Re: Up to date prices for pig food
Small damaged spuds have always been known round here as 'pig potatoes'.If you want a root for them that doesn't need boiling, try Jerusalem artichokes,if you've enough area, they grow fast, easy, and high.
Re: Up to date prices for pig food
It isn't illegal here to feed from the kitchen :) I understand the reasons why it is in the Uk but I don't agree that this legistration helps!
Apart from meat and uncooked spuds, are there any food which shouldn't be given to the piggies?

Re: Up to date prices for pig food
Well there's whats illegal(UK) and what's perfectly OK.They can be safely fed ANYTHING as long as it's been boiled long enough. When we fed swill (under licence ) you woulnt go out of your way to feed meat'but who would pick through every bin?Spuds uncooked wont kill them, they just dont like them (unless they're accidently loose in your veg patch!)
Incidently the non swill feeding order(which is where the non feeding of kitchen waste comes from) was (if my memory serves me right)an EU directive and therefore in theory applies throughout the EU.Needless to say no other country takes a blind bit of notice except of course good old UK!
