Hello
Hello
Found this excellent site and registered some time ago but I dont think I introduced myself. I live in Dartford with husband and three dogs. I spend as much time on my allotment as possible (I tend to go doolally if I'm indoors for to long) and have to admit that I have an inordinate fondness for slugs and snails... which is unfortunate.
I am not in paid employment (I am an ex secretary) but do voluntary work for a charity. I have several obsessions in life: allotment, dogs, chocolate, environment (bit of an eco-facist on the quiet) and old wooden sailing boats (specially bigguns with red sails).
Anyway, I'll go now cos I'm not sure what else to write.
Good site, glad to be part of it.
Ta ta for now,

slugs and snails
Hi Ina. Re your kind offer of more slugs... funnily enough, I have plenty of my own and so regretfully must decline. The pond in our wildlife garden (on the allotment site itself) is teeming with tadpoles so hopefully the slug problem will diminish when the number of frogs and toads increase. I have also noticed that there are a lot of baby slow worms around so they should help too. Aint nature grand!

Hello dasiy and welcome to the site.
We too have slow worms on our allotment, I have not seen any babies knocking around yet, but I do have to turn the compost soon so they might be there,.
