Hi from Kirkby, Merseyside

Post: # 212812Post jennyellow »

Being new to the foraging game, I'm hoping there are other Merseysiders who can point me in the direction of wild food!
Though I have made a good start, finding sloes, hawthorn berries, rosehips and apples in the woods surrounding Kirkby. Finding damsons, bullaces or nuts would be ace, had no luck there yet.
I live just off the M57 motorway and am planning to head further towards Maghull or St Helens and Rainford.. anywhere within reach really. Have already had a chat with Danny Llama who told me where to find horseradish!

Oh. my. god! You're from my hometown! You, me and danny lama should all meet up. I've been meaning to get back in touch with him to arrange something. I was considering going in search of nuts in Calderstones Park sometime. The foraging is not too bad in Kirkby, my best place was the Chad. Now I'm in the city centre, it makes things a little more difficult! Welcome!

Hi Jenny and welcome. Can you put your location in your profile as it'd be easier for other people in your area to notice, cos not everyone looks at the welcome bit and after a day or two we forget where everyone is from anyway.
