sunday (day of rest ?)
I was up befor dawn to watch the sun rise over the forest where i live, picked some sloes on the way down and quietly watched a family of deer graze in the new sun and frosty morn, when i got home i plucked and prepared a free range chicken given to me by my mate then turned it onto a curry and put the bones in my big pan for soup, i then racked two gallons of wine and made some fresh mayonaise for tomorrow while this was going on i had two loaves of bread cooking in the oven
, i have now just sat down for a couple of minutes on the puter then jane and i are going to watch the davinci code, oh by the way jane has been crochering a new rug for the fireplace, we are totally knackered
but happy phew

Respect to all, be kind to all and you shall reap what you sow.

I think that must be close to the perfect day.

Sounds wonderful, Russ. Ours has been pretty good too. Took a load of bottles to the bottle bank, after bacon butties and coffee of course
Since then we, too have racked 5 gallons of wine and OH is currently scrubbing thistle roots to make some more wine (apparently it tastes like whisky so yours truly won't be drinking any). I've just opened a couple of tins of pineapple to make some cheats wine - never tried it before so I'll give you my verdict in about 3 months time.
The oxtail has been in the slow cooker since this morning so I'm just about to go and do some mash and cabbage.
I think we must do our Sundays back to front because we watched a film over breakfast - a Chinese comedy called "Sixty million dollar man" (I love Stephen Chow films
)
It's been a bit rainy here today so we've not been out much but taken things nice and steady.
Tomorrow, however, we've got to be up at the crack of dawn to make the house habitable for guests - I wouldn't mind but they invited themselves

Re: sunday (day of rest ?)
DS had a friend to sleep so they were up late - woo hoo! Of course so were we! I'd put porridge in the slow cookerlast night so breakfast was really easy. We all pottered in pyjamas until lunch time - had a quick lunch of secret eggs and then we went off to a nearby steam gathering with a car boot sale - I found myself a new rice steamer - wonderful as I've steamed my old one to bits! Came home and made a roast pork dinner. So now we are all pogged and happy, sitting on the sofa with a blankie watching CSI - bliss!

Re: sunday (day of rest ?)
Sunday was a good one, though not the one intended. I'd been invited to show a bike but had to turn it down due to prior arrangements, which then fell through, but too late for me to accept the show invite.
Anyway I managed to fill my day with making blackcurrant and red gooseberry jam, pickling some more of my chilis, baking bread, baking a victoria sponge (granted it didn't get baked with jam in), and slow cooking a lamb curry with almost the last of the lamb from the freezer.
Oh and I put down skirting board in the bedroom.
All in a good productive day.

Re: sunday (day of rest ?)
I was up early setting a bonfire of the Apple Tree & hedge prunings, then made cottage pie for Monday & roasted a Duck and a Pig Hock for Tea & Soup / Stock. Pub for a couple of pints with friends, then OH back from work we had dinner, and went to bed with the kids at 7p.m. ( OH had a really rubbish day at work, so it was all a bit tired and teasy) Still 12 hours sleep later and we are all happy chappies.

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

Re: sunday (day of rest ?)
In a way it was a day of rest for me but not what I had in mind. I've got something wrong with me and it's sapping all my energy so Sunday was spent mostly in bed - by me, that is. Dave had a pottering in the garage day and was chuffed to have cleared up and could now see the floor again. I slept in until 9am, had shower and got dressed then decided I felt terrible and went back to bed until 2pm. Got up at 6pm and had some soup, watched TV until 8pm then went back to bed........God I felt rough
.
Life's a bitch and then you diet.
Re: sunday (day of rest ?)
Yesterday must have been the day for productive goings ons!!! We had a great day as Finley and I headed of and spent a couple of hours with our local ferret man, he has over a hundred ferrets!!!! We had so much fun. Meanwhile Neil was at home looking after the girls!!! We spent the afternoon chilling out with the kids before I went back round to Tony's and collected a ferret for Finley as a surprise. I already hav a ferret and Finn has been desperate for one. He was so pleased this morning when he realized Mitchy had a friend in her run and it was his, bless him!! X

Goodness you lot are all productive! I went out to get a birthday present for my mum and found myself some lovely furry warm slippers while I was at the shops. The OH is delighted that I went to bed last night with warm feet instead of putting them on his legs to warm them up! Spent the rest of the day doing last few wedding things (6 days to go - eek!) and making baked apples :-)

Re: sunday (day of rest ?)
on most sundays, when i'm not away i go to the trading post, down the allotments and say hello and buy some supplies. Then go to the plot and fire up the barbie for breakfast. usually some chicken, sausages and anything thats about for a stir fry.
i did see and move a slow worm to a safe place out of the way. have not seen a slow worn since i was a kid.
