Beetroot chutney

So, the recipe said it made 5lb of final product. Double the ingredients, I should end up with 10lb of finished product. My GCSE maths tells me that and my 3yo's maths skills tell her that 5 + 5 = 10.
So how have I ended up with 15lb of beetroot chutney? It will all get eaten as the 5 of us love it, but I now have 5lb of chutney in tupperware in the fridge because we didn't have enough jars.
Do we think there may be a mis-print in the recipe book?

Could be any number of reasons! But half as much again as expected does seem to be a rather large discrepancy

What was the recipe? -- if it says something vague like "simmer untill thick" then maybe you didnt cook it long enough
Or if the ingredients were in numerical form rather than by weight, maybe yours were bigger than average
