Flat on my back.

Post: # 211367Post oldfella »

Over the past weeks I have been having problems with my lower back, and after much to and froing to the Hospital for scans and whatever, it has now been decided that it is necessary to operate, and that means I will have to lay flat on my back for about 5 weeks, but as the OH said "wots new'".
We have harvested most of veggies and most of the fruit, the conserving is done, jams made and in the storeroom, so we are pretty well up to date, and in any case my Daughter lives next door so no real problems.
Anyway, I will be thinking of you all, cos I have, over the past year or so, found so much enjoyment and pleasure in sharing your lives and crying and laughing with you, at our mishaps and triumphants.

So I will let you know how it all works out, as soon as I can, and may all your Gods walk with you, and as the man said,

"I will be back"

Orr oldfella, good luck mate :hugish:
I really really really hope all goes well with the op and you come out the other side of it feeling much fitter and happier and especially pain free.
Will you be in hospital for the five weeks? I do hope not as it would drive me mad :brave:, home is best.
Take care and we'll see you later.
Life's a bitch and then you diet.

Best of luck oldfella. :hugish:

We'll be waiting for progress reports - you can still use a laptop in bed, you know, so if you've not got one I think this is as good an excuse for a treat as any.

Piece of cake for a man of your calibre, Eddy. But I can sympathise from experience.

Buy lots of paracetamol, be patient, and catch up on your reading. You'll be right as rain in no time.

In the meantime, I'll have a few groans for you - it always helps!!

He'll have arms like Popeye if he uses a laptop whilst lying flat on his back holding a laptop up (and trying to type at the same time  ) - no I think you need one of these new fangled mobile phone/internet type thingies Eddy! Much lighter!

All the best and I hope you will feel miles better afterwards and you can spend your time planning next year's gardening activities. :hugish: :hugish: :hugish:

Yeah, good luck Eddy.
Lots of seed catalogues and notepad, then you can spend your time constructively
Or as MMM says, get an ipod or an ipad and spend all day online.
See you soon.

Good luck! Send someone out to the library to borrow you some audio books - that'll pass the time (or you could be a bit more 21st century and download them!)

Just a thought make sure you have the television rigged up in your room. Its all very well talking about the computer but you may not find it easy to operate.

I was laid up for two months some years ago with back problems and couldn't even sit up so my only enjoyment was the TV. Even had to lie flat to eat, make sure you have straws for drinking - otherwise it gets rather messy

I really do wish you well .
