Hi
Hi everyone
I live in Colchester, Essex. I'm an aspiring "faccio tutto io" (do it all) for several reasons: better quality, respect of produce and let's be honest, save money.
I love sewing and have been making a good portion of my wardrobe for a few years, started knitting a couple of years ago, love baking and cooking and have recently become obsessed with making my own jam, yogurt, bread (hence the blog). I've also been growing some fruits and veg on my balcony with a Darwinian approach (survival of the fittest :p ). I'd love to get to the stage where the little meat we eat comes from a local farm, fruit and veg are our own or locally grown, everyday food homemade... ahhhh... one day, we'll get there!
Anyway, that's me! I'm sure I'll get closer to living the dream thanks to this forum (that's if i get away from the computer once in a while...)

Hi Julie and welcome to Ish
I've removed your signature, for the time being, as we only allow advertising after you've been acting on the forum for a while. Sounds like that shouldn't be a problem.
Look forward to seeing you around the boards

Re: Hi
My mistake Julie - I thought you were spam
If you want to put it back (your signature that is) that's OK.
Now I've sorted that out (hopefully) I can go and cook dinner.

Bonjour l'expat!
Bienvenue sur Ish.
I love your blog. I just had dinner, but I could just go and cook myself something else...
Et tu viens d'ou en France?

Hi there and welcome
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Re: Hi
Thanks everyone!
Caroline, I'm from Monaco. Don't throw stones at me please... I escaped as soon as I could :p
I grew up watching my grandma and great grandma cooking pissaladière, pies, pesto soup, fresh pasta, gnocchi etc and my granddad slaving in his garden, telling me that the best thing in life was a fresh tomato drizzled with olive oil, salt & pepper... not really the millionaire lifestyle everybody imagines!

I think that the true monegasques are not millionaires other than the prince and co, it's the ones who arrived later that are very cash rich... But I bet they don't even know what a proper tomato grown with tender care tastes like....
