You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

Pear and sloe cordial....

Post: # 210311Post Silver Ether »

Made this yesterday and its really good ... sweet with that individual taste of sloe just at the edge ...

I have not much idea of the quanties of either ... roughly a couple of pounds of Tettenhall Dick pears the last I could reach and if your familiar with these pears they are small and if you peel the they are gone .. so they are just quarteres and chucked in the pan along with a large Yeo tub of sloes and boiled up till mushy drained and continue as you would for any other cordial your making... :flower:

That's a good use for tiny pears. Hell I may be doing pear and ????? cordial myself later on, maybe blackcurrant or redcurrant as I've got them in the freezer. Why not try interesting/unusual combinations after all? :flower:
