Heart attack food

Post: # 208164Post Odsox »

I was wondering if others have a weakness for "life shortening" food

We had baked beans last night (as per the French Beans thread) and had one portion left over.
Today I have just had one my favourite lunches, baked beans on toast ... but as you know, left over beans get very stodgy overnight and I always moisten them with lashings of melted butter and pile them on buttered toast.

I have to admit though that I only have them a couple of times a year, but it's well worth the wait.

Cake and pud!

My chocolate courgette cake had 700 calories per portion, apparently. But it's healthy of course cos it's got courgette in it.

Yeah, well mine is healthy too cos it's made from home grown beans and home grown tomatoes on home made bread.

A pudding baisin full of warm soya chocolate pudding. Probably not so bad if I just ate a portion but I like to eat the entire pudding baisin full. Yum yum

May go and make some now in fact

You see you've been reading the wrong health warnings!

Have a look at the info on the Weston Price Foundation website - it'll make you feel a whole lot better Tony.

Chocolate - but that must be ok because it has iron in it and is a source of calcium - although you do need vit c to help absorb the iron, so I'd suggest fresh orange juice with added vodka to prevent it from going off.
Wine - but that must be ok too as it's made of grapes so should count as one of the 5 a day
Bacon, egg, sausage, mushrooms fried in butter, tomato, bread and butter - but they should be fine as they seem to cover all the major food groups.
See there is no such thing as food that is bad for you! :angel12:

I'm afraid for me there is no hope as my 'evil meal' is a Chinese chicken curry with boiled rice and, if I'm feeling really naughty, chips too! But they do put peas in it and I'm helping to keep a local business going.......err, run out of any good points now

If you cut the food up the calories leak out...I am suprised nobody knew that!!
My OH was given a pack of walnut whips the other day and ate five at ONE sitting...600calories each!! I only ate one which does not count as he ate more than me (another well known fact!) AND I cut it so it does not count at all!
My real weakness is cheese of any shape or form, oh and nuts and butter on newly baked bread.....I should book myself in for an angiogram soon :(

Pork Pie  But I always ask for a low fat pork pie

Went to our local butcher this week, and he let me have a large pie 1/2 price as it only had a couple of days to run, fortunatly I managed to eat it in time

I had to, even my mouth was not big enough

Tonight we have had Hailbut cooked in butter served with Pan Haggerty (potatoes, bacon, onions, cheese & chicken stock) and runner beans from the garden. Its a wonder we are still alive

Battenburg,I eat the whole thing, as though it was a mars bar,in one go,and I prefer the hideous mass-produced ones.I'm currently dieting though,so only one a week.

Ooh ...marzipan!! Stuffed into peach or pear halves, cooked in the oven with amaretto, (brandy or other alcohol) and orange juice, sprinkled with icing sugar, orange peel and butter!! Great hot or cold and SOO bad for you!
