I know Brian from the Britsh Lop society, even if you only sell a few to a butcher, the rare breeds marketing scheme is worth looking into.I've sold all our stock ready to move abroad,(except for an old barren sow that I cant bring myself to send off,as it will be the first time I havent had a pig for many years-she'll probably be dead in the sty one morning.and I'll need a JCB to get her out!)But when we've settled I'll buy some of the progeny of the stock I've sold, and start again in a small way. Are your goats milk or meat?

mum and dad have breed and shown goats for over 40 years now so their part is the dairy any males and poor examples for the show ring i will raise for meat, this is new to us the males would have been pts soon after birth i have always found it a waste so talked my parents round to keeping a few this year 8 so far 5 kids goatlings and 1 milker, not talked dad round to eating any. if i can get my hands on more land i would like to expand the goat meat side of things.

we shall be going to the lop show at melton on the 11th, just to have a natter with people and catch up with what they have been upto.
