Thanks for the welcome Andy and Ina, Ina you were asking what else I do besides "picking" mushrooms out of our lawn, which is keeping me pretty busy, like every morning.
Well, we just started last year with our new lawn and this year are trying our hand at planting some flowers, roses, rhododendrons, azaleas, then I have a bunch of planter boxes , which I started seeds in from marigolds, and have some mums in those also. I have already re-planted the marigolds around the rose bushes, well they aren't bushes yet, we just bought the plants this spring, and they were doing well except for one, then I noticed all the aphids on them , so have put all the marigold plants around them, and also have been spraying them with soapy water, I am hoping that this will do the trick.
Andy, I know nothing about mushrooms, but I wouldn't think these ones would be all that great for eating, they have a very slim stem, and are cone shaped, a whitish colour, they don't look like there would be much left of them once you pick them, they are really mushy.
If any of you have anything else to suggest for the aphids I would appreciate that also, thanks.

Hi gunners71uk,
As we have just last year paid over $3200. to lay down the sod for the lawn, we are not to eager to dig it up for a veggie garden, so mainly flowers right now, we have two little areas around the house for a flowerbed and lots of planter boxes with flowers in them, mums, marigolds, mini roses, pansies and two pots with dahlias from last years tubers, which are doing really well.

We had a couple of nice days, but now it's back to the rainforest, it's been coming down in bucketfuls, I am ready for some more sunshine.

Hi Millymollymandy, and thank you for the welcome. Yes, I hope the roses will do well also.
I have one that isn't taking very well, the one shoot that did come up with some growth, was eaten by the bugs. I don't know if it will come up again. I have just sprayed them now with a new concoction that I found in our local newspaper. It is all natural ingredients also, and one of the main ingredients is "garlic", so I will have a "yummy" smelling garden, lol.
