Hello from a newbie.
Hi,
I have been lurking around the site for the last year but have only this summer started to really get self-sufficientish. I have recently become a 1st time home owner, and also have also got engaged to a wonderful girl. This means that our money and resources are being used to fund our wedding. A perfect opportunity to become frugal and sustainable for our married life!
I have dabbled with growing veg, but now I have my own, (rather small )garden, I am going to devote more of my time and effort to growing my own, and enjoying it all the way!
I am on the waiting list for all of my local allotment sites, but there is large waiting lists for all of them. Still, until the time I can get a plot, I am going to hone my skills in the clay earth and pots I have in my garden at the minute.
Anyway, thanks for reading this and I hope to learn a lot from the fellow ish-ers here!

Welcome to ISH
You'd be amazed what you can produce from a small garden & a few pots. Then, when, your 'lottie' turns up you'll be able to hit the ground running as you'll have learnt the basics.
Good luck with the nuptuals too

Hi there and
welcome

Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Hi and welcome to Ish
At our allotment there are often people unable to keep theirs for periods due to ill health and it has recently been suggested that people on the waiting list might like to help out in return for produce. Get "bonus points". When my OH was ill it would have been really good to have access to someone willing. Maybe you could contact the secretary and ask?? Worth a try! :njoy your new place!
