First time here and really enjoy being in this forum. I would like to be self sufficient but there is not enough knowledge and time on my hands - I have my other half, one daughter and a collection of colourful feathered birds, chickens (plus cockerals) plus fish. Would like to keep bees but scared of their stings - got stung by wasps (10X give & take) after stepping on their nest in the ground a few years ago. Like to cook wholesome & fermenting food.

Hi there and welcome
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Welcome and hello Petalpower
.
My Mum had a similar experience when she was collecting wood near her house. She disturbed the nest and ran all the way home with wasps all over her, stripping as she ran. Mum had anaphylactic shock and was rushed to hospitel - horrible.

Re: Hello from Middlesex, U.K
Ouch - some times we have strange bedfellows
but mostly unwanted ones! I have a huge bucket of leftover water kefir (sweet smelling) and had trapped a hundred (give & take) wasp, now dead. There were a few huge giant wasps with huge heads too. I went past a pub, they had lured wasp to their death with stale beer in an inverted soda plastic bottles. They could get in but no way to get out.
