cleaning a sieve
So how do you clean a sieve? I have 2 metal ones what are looking a bit worse for wear with bits and bobs gettting stuck in them. I am sure that it is not that hygenic.

Thing is to rinse it as soon as you have used it, so that it never gets clogged up. A quick blast upside down under the tap is all that is needed. Trying to clean them in water that has already had dirty pots and pans in is hopeless.
For one that is already clogged, I guess a good soaking is the first thing.

Yep - wash it immediately after use... and use a brush to clean it... if it doesn't come clean after that then let it dry and bash it over the sink... all the bits should drop off
(that's the bits in the sieve of course!)

You can also find the complete script here.
There are some choice quotes to be had from that film. How about:
Monty: Do you like to sample all facets of life or do you shut yourself off from new experience.
Marwood: I voted conserative.
Or
Marwood: Get your stuff together, we leave in half an hour.
Withnail: Don't be ridiculous, I need at least an hour for lunch.
