oh dear - what a performance ........... !

Post: # 204263Post Woodslady »

I forgot my password - yes my fault I know :? but I've a million and one things going around in my brain like the rest of us I'm sure
so I clicked on the 'forgot my password' link - several times :(
it works perfectly but is it me ??
I don't seem to be able to tell the difference between 'l' '1' or 'I' - not easy !!

Anyway, it's worked now after many requests looking for a password with none of these numbers/digits in it
I'll change it asap. -I'll write it down

I am hopeless at remembering passwords...and PIN numbers! Our lives seem dominated by these things, especially if one uses the internet a lot! Mind you, I can appreciate why we need them!
My mother had a "senior moment"( or was it??) the other day..she bought a complete set of bedroom furniture, got her credit card out , put it in the machine and could not remember the PIN!! Guess who had to come to the rescue??!!! My card is now up to its max until she does a transfer!! We are not supposed to write them down, even in code, not supposed to use the same password/number for everything...how do others cope??

Oooh dear I shouldn't admit out in the open but I do exactly the same as you Richie in my address book.

However if anyone nicks my handbag I'll be up shit creek!

As for passwords I know you're supposed to have lots of different ones but I tend to have very few and anything that varies from my norm I forget!!!! Had to keep changing passwords on Facebook and Ravelry as I register on these sites which I don't then use much and forget. As for all the questions for internet (phone) banking OH MY GOD - because I use my bank online these days on the very few occasions I have to phone them I need to remember all my memorable this that and the others which I made up over 20 years ago.... how REALLY old people cope I just don't know as I'm old enough (but not yet 50  ) and my brain is already addled! :shaking: :shaking: :shaking:

Oh and our French bank cards don't give you the option to change the number to one that you can remember easily - whether that's a good thing or not I don't know!

I don't even know my own phone number - I have to look that up in my address book too.

 I wasn't counting you as REALLY old Eddy as you are far too young to be really old. Really old people don't garden 2 hectares like you! :salute:

Boy, am I glad that its not just me that does the addressbook /phone memory trick! Not supposed to but I figure, as richie says, that nobody knows I have no Aunt Allie (A&L)!! The other thing I do is put the spoof against someones name who I can rememeber their phone number anyway...like Mum !! Its just remembering which bank/password I used for her name!! I am REALLY old compared with you MMM (54) :(

Just go carefully there Ruth - I'll be 54 in November :pale:. Still 19 at heart though.

As for remembering numbers/passwords etc I'm pretty good at that. But names   I can't remember people's names for love nor money. I think it must be inherited though - my Dad called me Richard, Jeffrey, Margaret (working his way down through my siblings) until he got into his 80's then I became Joan, Beth, Richard, Jeffrey, Margaret (adding a couple of his sisters in for good measure)

So were birthday greetings in order Richie? Happy birthday anyway

I have to agree - this getting older lark isn't as bad as it's cracked up. If I can just get a place for our DD (and persuade to take her granny with her:lol:  ) life would be nigh on perfect

Fun isn't it? I regularly serve people in the shop wearing my slippers (not just my slippers  ) and have even been known to go in fresh from the shower with my hair still wrapped in a towel.

I like to think it adds to the quirkiness of the craft village

I hope its not just the hair wrapped in a towel either, Magggie!! Although it might boost business?? I suppose the towel and slippers together might be considered overdressed by some
I will admit that I dont often wear slippers to go out in the rainin UK...bare feet do me in ...except in Portugal where the ground is more unforgiving! I do wear clothing though!
