Re: Identifying help please
Weed 1 is a pain in the bum here in unhoed areas i.e. amongst spuds and pumpkins etc but no idea what it is, weed 2 I don't recognise.
However the good thing about weed 1 is that it is very easy to pull out of the soil - I like weeds like that (unlike chickweed with its roots that just will not pull out!).

If weed #1 has yellow flowers like miniature dandelions then it is Nipplewort.
Number 2 looks to me like Borage, especially if it had really bright blue flowers, if so not necessarily a weed, more of a herb.
If you crush a leaf from #2 and it smells a bit like cucumber then it's definitely Borage.

Re: Identifying help please
The leaves look a bit small for borage. I'm thinking it might be alkanet, same family but much smaller leaves and the flowers are more like forget-me-nots.
Either are a b*gger to remove - huge taproot and spread via runners. Just keep hoeing them.
The first one actually looks a bit like one of the oriental salad leaves that has self set and is going to seed.
See if you can identify them via an edible weeds site - you might get a free lunch

Re: Identifying help please
It's not borage as I'm growing that this year and it's nothing like.

If it is alkanet I'd definitely pull it - it has a huge taproot and also spreads underground. It's a pain in the wotsit. BUT - the roots give a fantastic red dye so it could still be useful.
