Hello from Jersey

Hello everybody,

Thought I had better drop by here and say hi before I start leaping into your conversations. My name is Benjamin and I live on the small island of Jersey (a little dot in the English Channel). I have been visiting selfsufficientish for years (even before the drastic redesign of the site!) and have always found it rather interesting.

I hope to get to know you all and share with you my ideas and opinions (you all seem rather friendly from what I have seen here).

I've never been but was in St Malo today looking at a Condor ferry (over here they are known as the Vomit Comets). One of these days I'll do a day trip there if only for the shopping - do you have a M&S food dept?

Hi Benjamin, I'm from Jersey too but I now live just across the water in Brittany, due south of Mont St Michel.

We come over to Jersey a lot though to visit family etc.

We have an old farm here and are slowly turning from townies into country folk - its a steep learning curve! I know I am well along the path though as I get culture shock now when I come to Jersey!
