Clare, thank you for that. I am literally this minute taking a break from sewing elastic, and I had decided I was going to just sew straight lines then seam up the back with a french seam to trap in all the ends. I was nervous though because I haven't seen any instructions that tell you to do that, so I am really pleased someone else has done it!
