Hard Sugar
Hi, went to make a cake this morning and found the brown sugar like a rock! Can it be rescued? Would hate to waste it! Thanks in advance. pbf.

Re: Hard Sugar
Put it in a basin and cover with a damp cloth. Leave it overnight and its moistness will return.
Afraid this doesn't help you if you wanted to make the cake now though

Re: Hard Sugar
When it is moist again put in a sealed airtight container and they never go hard in those containers ever!

Re: Hard Sugar
Thankyou so much! I don't have a food processor, so it is in the bowl with the damp cloth. We have chocolate sponge for tea! pbf.

Re: Hard Sugar
Turn it out of the container and into a pot of boiling water to use it to brew a beautiful golden wine (of undetermined nature - possibly raisin and something) with it!
