Radish Tops

Post: # 195709Post fran »

Just had to pass this recipe on!! Today I pulled several radishes ready for salads over the next couple of days. Then I found this very simple recipe on the internet for the radish leaves. Gently fry one onion with garlic and a sprinkling of chilli, when soft add radish leaves and stir fry until wilted. I served this with our sunday lunch and it was absolutely wonderful. :thumbright:

Bugger, I didn't know you could eat the leaves! Last year it was damn near all we grew (long story  ) and the leaves would have been welcome.

On the Edible Garden, Alys talked about leaving a couple of radishes to go to seed and using the seed heads as snacks - also info I could have used last year

I think the seed pods are nicer than the radishes. Plus - you get a lot more for your money. 1 radish = about 40 seed pods. Scruffy plants, though.
