Re: just to say hi have been off line for a while
Welcome back,
there are quite a few threads on container growing on ish. We have a very small garden (and also an allotment) but we have grown loads in tubs last year, carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, onions herbs to name but a few! Also cabbages, rocket and beetroots in the borders. It is the stuff that spreads which is more difficult...jerusalem artichokes and squashes!!! As we are giving up the allotment in the autumn (OH ill health) ) we are trying to be as innovative as possible to get the most out of the small space!
The cockerel makes the noise, the hen produces the goods!! anon

Welcome back
I`ve just returned from a long computer-less absence myself and I'm having a lovely time catching up on all the threads.
And I`m still learning stuff every log-on.

Thanks for all the replies..have just come back in form work to find that I have receibed my Dig in Seeds from the BBC so will get to work working out how and where to put these seeds..unfortunately I have very limited space have three small parts to the garden..the side one being taken up almost entirely by the kids trampoline..have managed to put some fruit bushes in at the sides so fingers crossed..small front garden (planted with flowers) there is hoever a small area at the front step which I am using for my pots unfortunately it it filling up fast..I have a small patio area to the bank but unfortunately we back on to an old orchard and the trees make this a very dark and shaded area tried pots on their last yeat and didn't have much success...it'll just have to be a matter orf trial and error and the small places I can find to put more pots
Thanks for all the advice

Hasn't it just glad that I can now just log on and read the new posts instead of trailing through everything like I used too

Hi Mel, welcome back.
I`ve got a smallish garden, too, half of it taken up by the hen run, so I try to grow as much as I can on the front garden. I grow all my herbs there, my strawberries, lettuces etc. It`s a long trek up to the allotment so it`s quite convenient for things I need for salads or cooking.
It`s easy to 'nip out for a sprig of mint' when it`s outside your front door, innit?
Good luck. Let us know how you get on.
