Hello From Grey County Ontario

Hello,

My husband and I moved to a farm Last July, we raise sheep, cattle, chickens and will soon have turkeys and geese joining us. Otherwise we have a multitude of horses, who I hope to integrate into our daily farm needs.

I am excited to find a site that is geared towards being self sufficient, as that was a goal that I quickly formed after moving to the farm and realizing what is happening to our planet.

Although I have raising animals mastered, gardening is a different story! I have only been involved in commercial flower beds previously. Thankfully we are having a nice early spring here in Ontario, which has inspired me to start a wonderful vegetable garden.

I am hoping that over this summer I get a greenhouse up and running to hopefully support our plants a little better over our harsh winters.

Welcome in :iconbiggrin: what sort of climate are you in? I understand the USA is divided into climate zones but have no idea what each one means

I am in Southern Ontario which is Climate zone 5a/5b, our winter temperature can reach -29 or colder at times.
