Eggs!

Post: # 193456Post Gem »

We finally got eggs for one of our little bantams!

We don't have space for full sized chickens so went with the half pint option and have been waiting for an eggy arrival for about 2 months now. Pleased as punch to finally get some.

Particularly pleased as we have had 2 eggs in 3 daysl! I think they are from the weirdo polish hen as they were jammed at the edge of the egg box and I am sure the silkie would be trying to brood them if they were hers (apparently polish bantams are awful mothers, they pop out their eggs and forget about them in about 3 seconds).

Anyway, just a post to say WHOOP!

Yay! It's always nice getting those first few eggs, isn't it?

And the novelty never goes away - even now, ours produce so many eggs I don't know what to do with, but I still love collecting them!
The more people I meet, the more I like my garden
