Standby power consumption

If you know of a way to help save our planet, even just a small part of it put it here. Also if you want to ask how to help, or even if you want to promote your environmental organisation. All goes here.

I hate TVs being left on standy (although I can be bad with other items) so much that none of the remotes in my house will standy by the TV.

Why?

because I've taken them apart and put a small piece of sellotape over the appropriate button. My housemates just think the remotes are broken.
Cheers,
Stew.

The youth here in Aus have just decided, that the safest place for Ina to sit is on the bonnet, so that's where you need to sit, Ina. K?
Sorry, I missed this due to holiday...

It might be a driver's blind spot, but not the other car driver's who is bashing into your car! I.e., it's the seat next to the foot path, and cars rarely get crashed into on that side.

And me as a figurehead for cars - oh no, I'm sure you can find something more attractive...
