Dry Mushrooms

The whole reason for the selfsufficientish website was to offer a place where anyone can ask, HOW DO I...? So who knows why it has taken us so long to have a HOW DO I? section, but here it is. So if you want to know how to do anything selfsufficientish then here is the place to ask.

Dry Mushrooms

Post: # 192406Post pelmetman »

I think I may be being a bit dim here  just making dinner and the mushrooms that admittedly I bought before Easter and had put in the larder were all shrivelled up, (still used them though). Was wondering surely it can't be this easy to dry mushrooms?

Whenever I have actually gone out gathering mushrooms I have always frozen them. We sometimes buy dried mushrooms which are really expensive and it just got me wondering. Anybody got any ideas please :flower:

Thanks for that Richie, will try the airing cupboard method.

By the way do you know the Rock Band in Weymouth called Slipped Disc, my brother-in-law Richard is the base player? :flower:

Hi Richie

He was in The Roger James Band, Topaz, The Woodland Bros and Sunrise don't know if any of these ring a bell.
