Fee, just to clarify, (no pun intended!) will this be cake or anything else minus butter? Or have you managed to find somewhere to get it from now?

Hahaha!
I do know somewhere to get butter now, but not in large quantities. I also don't have proper milk or cream...and no sour cream either! (i say that because i was looking for cheesecake recipes earlier and they all had sour cream in them

Re: Microwave Recipes??
I guess you've googled? I never cook anything in mine so I don't have any recipes, but I know some people have raved about sponge pudding from a microwave (sorry not sure if it is this forum or another one I use!).

Re: Microwave Recipes??
Great for cooking a whole pheasant. Skin the bird instead of plucking it. Couple of bay leaves in the cavity and micro in a lidded pyrex on full power for 15 minutes. Turns out succulent and juicy every time.
Beetroot is also a success. Peel the raw beet and slice about 8mm thick. Micro with a tablespoon of water in a lidded pyrex on full power until tender (usually about three minutes).

Oooo the beetroot one sounds good, really dont like that cooking beetroot smell, this could bypass it.
