When I planted my seeds for peas and mange tout in the coldframe, I very carefully marked which of the podded veg were mange tout but the label fell apart and now im none the wiser lol. The plants are exactly the same size, colour, shape etc. I will plant them out in the same spot and it doesnt really matter but how can I tell the difference when theyre grown? Ive not done mange tout before - if left wouold they grow into proper peas?
Also, not doing very well so far this year, ive sown asparagus peas this year and lost the packet!! Will these grow tall? Will I need large supports for them? When will they be ready? Arent they eaten with just butter once boiled? Again, havent grown these before so any advice welcomed thanks.

Re: Couple of things..............
By the time you have reasonable-sized peas growing in the pea pods, the mange tout pods will still be pretty flat. They don't seem to produce much in the way of peas so you should be able to tell quite easily.

Bringing this thread up again for the subject of asparagus peas. The more I search, the more I find that everyone who has grown them says theyre vile! Has anyone here grown them?
