You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

Leek Soup

Post: # 191476Post growingthings »

Okay, so the real reason I've ended up with so much is that DH bought me a new blender, and I went a bit soup making mad!

Any suggestion for livening up Leek Soup, as I feel that I may have a full scale revolt on my hands from the kids if I try and serve it up to them again! I've added bacon, but am a bit stumped as to what else I can add...

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Dave grows loads of leeks so we have a lot of leek soup  I often add potatoes and carrots plus add some freshly grated nutmeg. :flower:

I got really sick of leek and spud soup even though it used to be my favourite! Nowadays I use them up in mixed veg soup often with added lentils a la Siouxsie Siouxp! Or with peanut butter a la Maggie soup (ha ha should I name that one Maggi soup? )
