nope i didnt have time as i was busy making her bloody cake !!! as she overwhelmed my mother with the 60 individual cakes for the guest!

i actually gave her a 'book' printed in 1953 titled 'the threshold of marriage'

it went in depth on how to ACT, prepare, treat the inlaws etc, in the run up and on the actual day what is acceptable and what isnt  it also had an indepth section titled 'marriage and intercourse' which i found very amusing ( considering this was written for a couple 50 odd years ago!)

i wonder what she will think of it ?

i did stumble across this hilarious crafts though ( most probably not suitable for kiddie eyes btw so look at them when they are in bed!!! and id flick through the archive if you have a chance as theres some very weird and wonderful stuff!!! )

knitted condom anyone?
http://theanticraft.com/archive/lugh06/ ... anning.htm

im so tempted to make this but i wonder who to give it to and i can even use the funky glow in the dark wool i spotted the other day

sounds like you had a fun day then - weddings can be very stressful - and NOT just for the happy couple

yea saw the accident just after it happened -( was round at pound land ) my thoughts to the family and relatives - very sad - brought back a lot of memories for me having seen so much of it in the fire service :?

and was SICKEND by all the rubberneckers there taking photos with mobile phones - had a go at one BITCH who was on her phone in a shop near by as she was complaining she could not "see" anything :angryfire: :angryfire: - she got the rough end of my tongue sad ... ( rest unprintable )

truly we live in a SICK society

sorry to go off on one but needed saying - and i am STILL tricking about the crass behaviour of some people - no dambed respect :angryfire: :angryfire:
the validity of ones ideas are best measured by the resistance they attract

and if enough people tell you are WRONG - do it ANYWAY !!

Phew, sounds really awful but I'm secretly pleased that things did not all go to plan for your sister (and well done to little one for throwing a wobbly in the middle of the service! Good timing!!!)

What did she think of your jeans?

I'm glad for you that it's all over :hugish: but a bit sad we won't get any more funny threads about it.

And Brett, taking photos?   :dontknow: You're right, they are SICK.

yeah it is sick taking photos, but my mate is a press photographer and he was there but its his job. :? he finds it tough on where the line should be! he had to photograph a funeral a few months back with the local paper and even he thought is was bad to have to do that. he didnt take the shots he KNEW would sell as it wasnt appropriate.

but this is the world we live in. photos sell and its cheaper to buy them from the public than it is to get them from a press photographer.

nothing was really said about my outfit, but my sis got it in the neck for hers!!! she flat out refused to buy a frumpy dress so brought something she could were on a night out  my god you should have seen the cleavage on her  it was worth it to see bridezillas disapproving looks, snarls and hear my grandmothers vile comments!! my sis didnt care though she got very messy! she even got chatted up buy a gay wedding guest even though shes engaged!!

made me laugh as bridezilla was on side of the room with her partners family, her 'friends' and some strays and my mum , me , the siblings ( even the barred sister was reluctantly allowed to go) all sat on the other side and we were the only ones on the dance floor!! have to admit though the dj really wasnt that impressive and the bar was stupidly expensive £2.50 for a coke  so we took in our own drinks.

we had a laugh with helium too, oh its so funny to to tell someone of with a helium induce tone !!!

still i guarantee there will be another daft family gathering soon! brizezillas little one is turning 2 next month so that will be .....interesting ( shes spoilt and needy so the party will be a dream)

This thread has been fascinating  We have not been to a wedding for a while, but have been invited to our nephews in May, they have already spent more on the invitations than Sue and I spent on our wedding  So I hate to think what the whole bun fight is going to cost as they have booked a very expensive country hotel for the do, we have also recieved in the invitation, a web site address for the wedding list cheapest thing is a grater which I am saving up for:wink: and of course a Honeymoon in Mauritius.

I think the best bit is, half the family don't get on now. Our nephew only invited his Mother under sufference and apparantly she has only been sent a text not a posh invite!
He has not invited his step sisters, so you can imagine how that has gone down with his fathers wife (not allowed to be called step mother). If you add all the other minor fueds that have been simmering for a while :shaking:

I am thinking of running a sweep stake on who will kick off first
Kind Regards

God I am so lucky! We got married in Vegas although we had a reception when we came back but that was really straightforward. I only have one brother and he's not married. My only 1st cousins live in Oz or NZ.

My brother in law got remarried recently and although they were expecting us originally to go to Saltzburg for it (we weren't going to go!) they decided in the end to bugger off to Las Vegas as well (same chapel!)!!! No reception either. And that's my hubby's only brother and no 1st cousins that he's in touch with. No nieces or nephews, no children (poor childless people that we all are  ).

Oh life is good. :flower:

My father was a professional photographer years back. He lost his job with the Times because he refused to camp outside Christine Keeler's flat all night when the news of her affair broke.

Nowadays, of course, he wouldn't get any work at all with ethics like that.

guests arrive its ok for about an hour then bridezilla rants the little one is eating all the wedding favours ( he was hungry )
It sounds like your son was much better behaved than I would have been, when I get hungry I turn into the Incredible Hulk

Well done for getting through it. :hugish: I think there are some things that, the more money you spend on them, the worse they are, and weddings are one of them. Handbags are another and I often think anybody who is tempted to buy the latest It Bag could just have a tattoo on their forehead which says 'I am a bit dim and have been suckered by consumerism' and it would last them longer (apologies to any Ishers rushing out to buy the Mulberry Alexa).

i dont think she spent all that much on it to be honest  or if she did it went on usless stuff , like a 'special pen' to go with the guest book and a cake stand that cost more than the cake :pale:

oh well its all over now i have to look forward to her little ones birthday party :pale: ive already called in sick for that one !!!

Ahem the cake didn't cost her much cos she suckered you and your mum into making it! Otherwise it would have cost her a ruddy fortune!

yeah it was one for each guest it was a weeks worth of work there.

i dont think she was as we got no thanks for it although all the guests were impressed

i think my sister was after something a little more.... flashy and less homemade looking even though it was
