Hi From Ireland

Post: # 186847Post jonkil »

Hello to all,
Living in North West Ireland, 43 years old and life has been hectic for 25+ years. Looking for a change.
I have 27 acres of land I have amassed over the years in 2 plots, one of which I am selling (8acres) to clear my mortgage on my house.
Great forum with helpful topics, looking forward to putting them to use.

Jon

Hi there and welcome
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Thank you all for the welcome.
I hope the moderators don't mind me putting a plug in for the piece of property I have for sale, it may be beneficial to someone.
The property for sale is listed here at http://www.tinyurl.com/smallholding if anyone is interested or knows of anyone who may be.

All the best

Hi and welcome. We don't mind ads of this kind if you join in the forum discussions. If you join solely with the intention of plugging an ad then I'm afraid we might pull the plug. So get posting!

Thanks,
Definitely not joining just to advertise !
I am about to embark in a totally different direction.
I have been working from my early teens and now have the opportunity to slow right down and attempt to live a simpler life.
I was reared on a farm and will enjoy going back to it, this part of the world is predominately a farming community, over the past years the farms have been bought up and become larger, however there is a definite move back to a more sustainable lifestyle over the past couple of years since the recession has bitten.
I have experience with cattle, charalois and also with Suffolk sheep. I will be keeping pigs and have enough land to grow as much as I will ever need.
Business now sold, and both children (Children !, 20 and 19) are at University so we have the chance to take this route to a more relaxed lifestyle.
Will be posting on the different forums when I get all up and going, off this weekend to get pig housing and the pollytunnell. Should be quite an exciting year.
Will keep you all updated and will set up a blog to show all that is happening here.
Thanks again to everyone for the welcome.

Jon
