Hi there, have you been frequenting reverse garbage?
I am jealous of your chook pen as mine hasn't got off the ground yet... our tip shop has closed:(
I will keep an eye out for you on Aussies Living Simply!

Yep! I made my entire chook pen (cept the chicken wire) from reverse garbage for around $35!

Here's a photo.. as you can see I didn't make separate areas like the plans, and I used two planks of wood for the top instead of one... and I used a different latch system (two eye screws and a rope, lol). I also electrified it against dogs.

That is great! I t looks so neat and tidy too, well done you! That is exactly the sort I would love to make but my scrap heap is a bit uninspiring at the moment (being two microwaves, some fence palings and a dismantled tumble dryer).
I am feeling a bit more inspired now thanks to your gorgeous picture of your happy little Silky chooks(also Master three is watching scrapheap challenge which helps).
I really like the idea of the electrifying- does that battery give a reasonable belt? I used to have a bank of similar ones for a teeny solar setup but I would be more likely to wrangle something with more oomph if needed!
