Bales of Straw

The whole reason for the selfsufficientish website was to offer a place where anyone can ask, HOW DO I...? So who knows why it has taken us so long to have a HOW DO I? section, but here it is. So if you want to know how to do anything selfsufficientish then here is the place to ask.

Bales of Straw

Post: # 182587Post greyface »

Can anyone help with bales of straw?

We are looking for a local supplier of straw for the pigs bedding we live in the forest of dean area our normal supplier has increased his prices from .50p a bale to £2.50 over the last year and we were trying to shop around to see what others were offering but it has been virtually impossible to find anyone selling straw. If you can help that would be great
thanks

I always got my pig bedding from the local farmer. Are there any arable farmers nearby?

Look at small ads in local paper and see if your local agricutural store has a noticeboard with ads on - that's how we found small bales of straw. Good luck!
