Yesterday i was cycling back from the allotment and called in our local shop to get some milk and overheard some people say"don't look but here comes that wierdo that wears those hats " so i smiled at them and said to the shopkeeper "good day shopkeeper i'm just picking up my non alcohlic beverage from your bovine that you keep in your yard" now i have known this man for 5 years now and he has bought my veg from time to time so he played along, i walked out making deliberate eye contact and smiled you should have heard the muttering i just love being NOT NORMAL it does make me giggle the way people think.

I wear hats too, current fave is a neck warmer/beanie with my biker name and a cagiva triskel embroidered on. I feel undressed without - years of wearing a skidlid I reckon

You'll have to up the ante. Try a holey stocking cap, missing teeth, beard, sweater with the elbows out, flashing ankle bands, utility trike, strong smell of pig muck, non-matching wellies (one green, one blue), a couple of dead chooks in the cab of the utility trike, and a 20-year-old boombox playing Waylander (who needs an iPod for tunes on the go).

For some reason, cars and pedestrians give me a very wide berth.

But the Other Half says I'm drop-dead sexy. Although it sometimes sounds like she emphasises the wrong words...

With pride I say non of you have anything on me when it come to wierdo scales....

For example I was with a friend in London in the mid 90's and he took me back to Kings Cross on the tube so I didn't get lost.
He was sat on one side of the carraige and I on the other. I was amused at how people opposite you fix their gaze exactly 3.12 inches above your head, how they can be reading a paper or book and take everything in but give nothing out etc.
Anyway, I'm sat there chatting away and my friend proclaims in a loud voice,

" it's ok folks he's from the North and he's going home now....."

half of the carrige sighed with relief !!

......Oh and they charged £8 for a "students haircut" AND YOU HAD TO HAVE PROOF OF BEING A STUDENT !! at the same time up here in the darkest poolie land a haircut was around £1.25 !

Needles to say I've not been to London since.

I also reckon OTM should be renamed JK !! no not after the writer but the musician as he also loves hats and a little known fact that Canada was born out of the need for beaver pelts as these made very good felt for the hat makers of London back in the late 1700's...
