found quail, pls help
Hello there, someone i know found a quail, we live in lancashire england. The quail was found outside, the person who found it, thought it had escaped from somewere. The thing is im not sure what to do with it. Does anyone know if quails live in the fields of lancashire? I dont know if to let it go back to the wild, or try and find a home with other quails. It seems really healthy, but its getting used to humans, and thats not good if it can be set free. Any help or advice will be really greatfull. Thanks very much.

According to my bird book they don't live in Lancashire .... but they do in Yorkshire.
They are also native to East Anglia, central southern England, Cornwall & Kilkenny.
Very picky birds, aren't they ?

So, from what Odsox says, it ain't a wild quail. Find it a home with other domesticated quail, and it'll be a happy bird.

I'd take it along to a local poultry club, someone will keep quail and be glad to take it in.
