So imagine how pleased I was yesterday when both the red one AND the bluebell both laid!!! I haven't heard of hens coming back into lay in the middle of winter before!

Dead chuffed!
I'm so happy - I got 2 pol hens in the summer and the red hybrid who I imagined would keep laying through her first winter promptly went off lay in mid September
, though the other one (a bluebell) kept laying her little socks off until about 5 days ago then just stopped. So I thought that was it until about March.
So imagine how pleased I was yesterday when both the red one AND the bluebell both laid!!! I haven't heard of hens coming back into lay in the middle of winter before!
And I knew there was something up with the red one as she was all pesky and really talkative beforehand.

Just an observation - isn't it great how next-door neighbours can now be in France, New Zealand and the USA?
