The whole reason for the selfsufficientish website was to offer a place where anyone can ask, HOW DO I...? So who knows why it has taken us so long to have a HOW DO I? section, but here it is. So if you want to know how to do anything selfsufficientish then here is the place to ask.

Hmmm - definately curious! What about some sort of spray laquer that artists use?
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

depends what you want it for - if for a child then craftwires won't do it will they? hmm - and neither would a sliver of plastic (like a bra stay) in that case hmm again
Spin some horsehair into it? or spray with hairspray? Or felt it (either wet or needled) firmly?

hehe I needed this thread to cheer me up... ok ... I have crochet a beanie hat and its to look a bit like an acorn center top is green followed by fawnish colour and edged in brown... all I need now is the nut to wear it and I know the perfect person ... the stiff bit I want is the little stem on the top where it would have been attached to the tree... so no wires but the idea of a clear glue could work as long as its not water soluble... I will post a picture when its done ... Ta
Epoxy or polyester resin should work. What colour wool do you need? I fix boats for a living so have access to these every day. Could probably make it for you and post it! PM me if I can be of any help.
