I picked a yellow cherry one (Sungold) yesterday! It's the only plant still left but it is still flowering its little face off and still producing baby tomatoes, which I hadn't bothered picking with the rest of them a few weeks ago when it was frosty as they were too small! Now after a warmish spell one has ripened. We're just eating the last of the red ones which have been ripening indoors.

I was always under the impression they were a different kind of tomato that was supposed to be eaten green. I wouldn't fancy unripe toms - well I've never tried but they don't appeal very much!

No, no, no, no, no!

Fried green tomatoes are absolutely gorgeous - loads of different ways to do them. I slice them, dip in seasoned fine cornmeal and fry. Best with big toms, like beef tomatoes, IMHO. I use a cajun-type seasoning, hot as you like.

You can also do the flour, egg, breadcrumbs thing for a crunchier coating.

Mmmmmmm - guess what we're now having for lunch

Well I left a couple of plants in, the frost hadn't got their leaves so might as well give them a chance..and yup I'm still munching the od one that doesn't split
The rest (all teh big ones) went for ripening in the greenhouse....but there's some still green so maybe I'll have to give this a go :? Like the cajun spices idea mmmmmm
