Probably because it is full of weegies - as we say in Scotland. i.e Glaswegians. Isn't your island also referred to as The Devil Island?

Yes there are Tasmanian Devils here which are rapidly becoming endangered due to a nasty Facial Tumour disease but aren't they cute?
